As Blanck Mass, Benjamin John Power takes the anthemic melodies and heroic doses of noise he pioneered with Fuck Buttons in directions that are sometimes more immediate but always thought-provoking. Whether railing against political injustice on 2017's World Eater or exploring the connection between grief and consumerism on 2019's Animated Violence Mild, Power's work as Blanck Mass is, above all, musically and emotionally intense.
Alongside Power's numerous and varied Blanck Mass releases, he also works as a producer for other artists and more recently has begun his journey as a composer for film

Animated Violence Mild

Animated Violence Mild was written throughout 2018/2019 at Blanck Mass’ studio outside of Edinburgh. These eight tracks are the diary of a year of work steeped in honing craft, self-discovery, and grief - the latter of which reared its head at the final hurdle of producing this record and created a whole separate narrative: grief, both for what I have lost personally, but also in a global sense, for what we as a species have lost and handed over to our blood-sucking counterpart, consumerism, only to be ravaged by it.
