Karine Polwart is a multi-award-winning songwriter, musician, theatre maker, storyteller, and writer. Six-times winner at BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, including 2018 Folk Singer of The Year, her seventh solo album ‘Laws Of Motion’ (“Epic, assured and spinetingling” The Quietus) was chosen as Mojo’s Folk Album of the Year 2018. SAY-nominated 2016’s ‘Pocket Of Wind Resistance’ (Songlines & BBC R3 Late Junction’s Album Of The Year) was a musical companion to her critically acclaimed theatre show Wind Resistance which debuted at EIF and won a New Music Scotland Award for its innovative blend of folk music, spoken word & sound design.
